Mom: Lindsay Lohan Is a "Genius"

Lindsay Lohan's first collection with Ungaro may have bombed, but her mom still thinks she's brilliant.

"The critics can say whatever they want, but Lindsay is a genius," Dina Lohan tells the New York Post.

In fact, Lindsay will collaborate with her mom on an as-yet-unnamed shoe line Dina is designing, she says.

"Lindsay is signed to Ungaro, but she will definitely have input because she is so talented," Dina says.

She says detractors need to "leave Lindsay Lohan alone.

"Let her be a real 23-year-old. Let her grow, and let her artistic abilities flourish," she says. "Stop judging the Britneys and the Lindsays. They are very creative girls, and that is a gift from a higher power of God."

Dina also slams her estranged husband Michael's claims that he was planning an intervention for their daughter, who has been to rehab three times.

"I don't go -- like my ex -- on national television and make things up," Dina tells the nationally-available newspaper.

She adds, "He's estranged from Lindsay; he doesn't know what's going on in her life. Michael doesn't talk to her.

"I've had full custody of all my children for the last 10 years. He has been incarcerated for some of that time, so whatever is going on in Lindsay's personal life is our business," she says. "And for him getting paid to say things about her when he's five months behind in child support is wrong."

When asked if Lindsay has addiction problems as Michael alleges, Dina dodges the question and says: "I have no idea what he is talking about. I can't comment on everything my ex says."

    Lindsey was given her chance to make it big and now she's burned all her bridges by becoming a drama queen diva. Thanks to Mom for helping her party and close down night clubs. This limelight was an accident waiting to happen and Lindsey can thank her mom for all of it. WHAT A MISTAKE AND A JOKE.
