'Modern Family' Stars Celebrate Prop 8 Ruling

After a federal appeals court ruled California's ban on same-sex marriage to be unconstitutional on Tuesday, Modern Family stars Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Eric Stonestreet celebrated via Twitter.

In a picture posted to Jesse's Twitter account, the actors, who play a gay couple on ABC's Emmy-winning sitcom, are featured standing in front of an American flag and holding a sign that reads, "How could you NOT want to see us tie the knot?"

The ruling could potentially affect the storyline of the show's upcoming seasons. We'll just have to wait and see.

The ban, Proposition 8, was approved in 2008. The court called it unconstitutional after concluding that the law served no purpose other than to deny gay couples marriage, therefore singling out a minority group for disparate treatment.

Modern Family airs Wednesdays on ABC.

I'd rather see them tie the knot than some couples that abuse/kill their own kids.

Exactly! We have so many worse problems in this world and people want to focus on taking away rights instead. That's why there's so much negativity.

Why do people care of same sex marriage. They are not hurting anybody. The right wing need to get over it.

As a straight californian, I couldn't be happier and more proud. Ignore the smallminded bigots out there. They hate because they're unhappy with themselves. The constitution says equal rights for all and I, for one, am very proud that we finally understand that and celebrate it

I love the comments from the liberated liberals. If you are against homosexuality then you must be a) a bigot, b) homophobic, c) hateful, d) ignorant or e) right-wing extremist.
Hate to break it to you gay lovers out there, most of us are none of those. We know what the homosexual agenda is and we are sick of it getting shoved down our throats. For a small minority of the population who practice wierd and sick lifestyles there should be no special rights. Homosexuality is right up there with other sick perversions. I don't care what you do in the privacy of your homes, but stop pushing it on the rest of us. And all you straight people who love gays have just been brainwashed by the liberal media and shows like this that hollywood puts out. Gays are a joke and should be treated as such. Go ahead now and pick one or all of a) through e) to call me.

"How could you NOT want to see us tie the knot?"

How could you NOT want to see polygamists, bisexuals, pansexuals, and blood relatives tie the knot?

What does it matter to you if someone else gets married? How in the world does it affect you? Besides that "it goes against my beliefs"? Not everyone has the same beliefs as you, so why should it matter? I just don't understand it. Isn't America about equality and everyone getting the same chance to succeed? What about the whole pursuit of happiness? Last I checked, being in love and getting married is a huge key to happiness for most people, so why doesn't everyone get that chance?

What are you thinking equating homosexuals with polygamists and blood relatives?
