Minnie Driver has finally revealed the identity of the father of her three-year-old son, Henry. The baby daddy in question is a writer from her show "The Riches" which aired from 2007 - 2008.
The "Good Will Hunting" star broke the news to the British magazine The Observer saying, "I don't need to protect him anymore. He can fend for himself. He's a grown-up."
At the time of her pregnancy, she decided to stay mum on the father's identity to help respect his privacy. She adds, "We weren't together and he wasn't directly in the business, so I chose to protect him and not have a rain of publicity.
Even though she's let some details out about his identity, Minnie is still not naming names or pointing fingers at the unexpected dad who is slowly becoming more involved in their son's life. Of his current status in Henry's life she reveals, "Is he a good dad? Sort of. He's figuring it out. I mean, he hasn't been that involved -- his choice. But he is now."
Her decision to keep the father's identity a secret until now started a bit of a trend in Hollywood of actresses who kept that baby daddy under wraps. Which other stars have kept the father of their children secret?
January Jones: She may play the iconic 1960s housewife on "Mad Men", but off-screen she's a modern mommy raising her five month old son Xander on her own. The actress certainly got tongues wagging when she announced her pregnancy last summer just months after ending her relationship with SNL funnyman Jason Sudeikis. So far she's kept mum on the father of her baby and shows no signs of breaking her silence anytime soon.
Padma Lakshmi: The "Top Chef" host decided to stay quiet on the identity of her daughter's father throughout her pregnancy in 2009 - 2010. After struggling for years with endometriosis, she considered her baby pregnancy to be a medical miracle and wanted to focus solely on the baby. Soon after daughter Krishna's arrival in February 2010, the father was revealed to be venture capitalist Adam Dell. Despite not being a presence in his daughter's early life, Dell sued for full custody of their daughter in January 2011.
Hugh Grant: When he announced that he had welcomed his first child late last year, the British actor decided to omit the mom's name to help protect her privacy. At the time his reps said, "I can confirm that Hugh Grant is the delighted father of a baby girl. He and the mother had a fleeting affair and while this was not planned, Hugh could not be happier or more supportive." The press later outed the baby mama as Chinese actress Tinglan Hong.
