This holiday season, friends and family of actress
Minnie Driver
might be getting an unexpected gift.
"I want to give them camels," Driver said in an interview with
Oxfam America Unwrapped, an organization that allows
users to give gifts -- everything from mosquito nets to a water
purifier to a goat or camel -- to those less fortunate.
"It's this amazing gifting program where you can give gifts to your
friends that go to those in need," Driver said. "I'm a big fan of
camels because even though we don't have camels where I live, they
are remarkably useful in and around Sub-Saharan Africa.

"Their milk, their endurance... their spitting abilities," she
joked. "No, not really. That doesn't help anybody."
So, why such a unique gift for her friends?
"I don't want to be cluttering people's already-filled cupboards
with more socks and scarves and rubbish," she said, adding that
giving a camel through Oxfam America Unwrapped is a great
alternative because it's something that the recipient doesn't have
to see, but they know it's doing good.

Her gift-giving sensibilities might be an effect of one bad
present.
"It was a thong with my name on it," she said about the the worst
gift she's ever gotten. "It was disgusting, in rhinestones. Why you
would want a gift like that, I don't know!"
