Apparently Miley Cyrus decided that her new bright blonde mane just couldn't be tamed - she lopped off her new platinum locks to give herself a super-short hairstyle that definitely won't need much brushing.
Her new haircut looks more like a 'do that Rihanna would rock (RiRi was brave enough to make her hair look like a bird once). So perhaps the edgy style is Miley's way of showing the world that she's ready to follow in the footsteps of the "S&M" singer by making her party in the U.S.A. a little more risqué.
But now that Miley's hair is mostly gone, will she ever want to grow it back? She debuted her new hairdo on Twitter with the words, "Never felt more me in my whole life," so she might stick with it for awhile.
She wouldn't be the first star to embrace short hair - here's a look at a few other celebs who don't like letting their locks grow out:
When the Spice Girls reunited for the Olympics closing ceremony, Posh Spice didn't return to rocking her famous reverse mullet - instead she softened her look with long, luscious locks (but she did wear a mullet dress). Over the years she's embraced tons of different short looks, including this 2007 Halle Berry-esque pixie cut.
This singer is rarely seen with anything but a super-short pixie cut. Perhaps that's why she was just named the newest CoverGirl - she doesn't ever try to hide her face behind a scalp full of extensions. However, staying short isn't always easy since mistakes don't leave hairdressers much to work with -- last year the singer took to Twitter to complain about how much she hated her new Judi Dench-esque hairdo.
This pixie princess has a reason for keeping her hair short, even though she says that her daughter Matilda hates it. During an interview with British ELLE, Michelle jokingly said this about her hairstyle: "Of course, the only people who like it are gay men and my girlfriends. Straight men across the board are not into this hair!" But apparently Matilda's father, the late Heath Ledger, was a big fan of the look. Michelle explained her reason for holding on to it for the last five years by saying, "I cut it for the one straight man who has ever liked short hair and I wear it in memorial of somebody who really loved it." Hopefully her new man Jason Segel is also a fan.
So do you think that Miley's short hair will stick around for five years like Michelle's, or will she have extensions in her hair by the end of this week? And do you love or hate her new look?
