Miley Cyrus has barely been out of the news over the past few months, and interest levels grew even higher when she announced her engagement to Liam Hemsworth. Now, reports are suggesting that Cyrus is planning some time out of the spotlight to enjoy being with her fiancé. While her fans will be upset by this, there are some very good reasons why Miley needs to take a show business break. Let's take a look at some of the media drama that has followed her in 2012.
Eating disorder rumors
When the "Hannah Montana" star was seen looking thinner than usual, people quickly leapt to the conclusion that she had an eating disorder. Although she has dropped a considerable amount of weight, Miley didn't waste any time shooting down the claims by revealing that she has an allergy to gluten and lactose. This is the same girl who, just last year was in the papers for being "too fat." The constant reports on her weight have been ongoing for a long time, and that on its own would be a good reason for her to take some time away from the watchful gaze of the paparazzi.
Another thing that Miley could use a break from are the reports on the state of her relationship. Just weeks after she announced her engagement, the "Can't Be Tamed" singer was spotted hanging out in a pool with a guy who was not Liam Hemsworth. Right away, there was talk that she was cheating on her fiancé. Cyrus hit back on Twitter, telling her followers that she is more than happy with the man she has, and that it's okay to have guy friends.
Most recently, Cyrus was seen sporting an unattractive wedgie while she was swimming, but it isn't just her wardrobe malfunctions that are talked about. It seems that she can't win with her clothing choices. If she wears low cut tops, she's showing too much cleavage, if she's wearing mom jeans, she's too scruffy. The endless knocks she receives about her outfits are probably something she could live without.
No sooner were the nuptials announced, there was talk about whether Billy Ray's daughter was expecting a baby. Miley's mom, Tish, was the first to put a stop to this story by telling the world that there won't be the patter of tiny Cyrus/Hemsworth feet any time soon. Tish tweeted that the happy couple should be experiencing the best time of their lives, but instead, they are being hounded by false stories.
Most of these things happened in May and June of this year, and this is just a handful of the times the 19-year-old has made the news. Perhaps some time out of the spotlight will allow her the time she needs to grow, without the pressures of fame.
