Michelle Kwan is getting married!
The Olympic medalist, who earned five figure skating world championships, confirmed to People on Tuesday that she is engaged to Clay Pell, director for strategic planning on the White House National Security staff.

The news source reports that Pell, 30, popped the question on September 3 after first meeting in April 2011.
"It was a simple decision and it made sense, that's what's so exciting to me," Kwan, 32, told People. "We are working together as a team, like in [pair skating]."
If Pell's last name sounds familiar, it might be because his grandfather, the late Rhode Island Senator Claiborne Pell, created Pell Grants, which have been assisting college students for about 40 years.
Pell reportedly proposed to Kwan on Block Island, situated off of the Rhode Island coast.
