Michael, who served nearly two years in New York State Prison for driving while intoxicated and other charges, has publicly yearned to reunite with Lindsay since his release in March.
"Lindsay has had the choice since she was 18 to see Michael. It's her choice," a source reportedly told People on Wednesday. "And this time around, her brother and mother talked with Lindsay and convinced her to allow him to come."
According to People's report, multiple sources said that Lindsay's attorney, Blair Berk, helped negotiate the visit with Michael.

New York Post's Page Six first reported on the visitation, with a source saying that Michael would visit Lindsay "later this week," and that counselors would be present for the meeting.
Michael has been embroiled in a long divorce battle with Lindsay's mother, Dina Lohan, but the two came to a settlement on Aug. 17. Part of the settlement included allowing Michael to visit his younger children, Ali and Dakota, through the process of"therapeutic reunification."
Michael's legal visitation rights do not apply to Lindsay, since she is not a minor. However, bringing the family back together has been a focus for him. In an earlier interview with Access, Michael blamed the family struggle for many of Lindsay's public problems and said reconciliation could help solve some of his daughter's issues.
"Look, let's be serious. The writing is on the wall. When we were a family, did you see any of this going on? It wasn't until we were torn apart, at the pinnacle of Lindsay's career no less, when people came into the picture did everything fall apart," Michael said.
