LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- A day before Lindsay Lohan appeared in court over troubles with her probation, father Michael Lohan was taping an episode of "Maury" on Thursday to reach out to his daughter.

"I'm gonna do anything and everything I have to save your life," Michael said in a public address to Lindsay in the upcoming episode, which will air October 27.

The celebrity dad claimed he saw Lindsay several weeks ago in an encounter that left him in tears.

"I was out in LA with her about three weeks ago when she got robbed," he told Maury. "I couldn't even look at her. I had to go outside and cry and when I hugged her, it's just a hollow, hollow person.

"I hate to speak out publicly like this about Lindsay," he continued, "But it's for all the parents and the teens out there. I've seen what it's done."

The "it" in question, he alleged, is prescription pills.

"You have no idea how harmful they are," Michael explained. "I'm a drug counselor and I see how hard... it is for kids to detox from these prescription drugs. But these prescription drugs get into your bones and when you drink on 'em, even the psychotropics, you're talking about oxycontin, Vicodin -- I'm talking about the Adderol, I'm talking about the Zoloft, the psychotropics that kids are taking to lose weight."

And Michael's not just worried about Lindsay - but daughter Ali, 15, as well.

"When she's in these clubs and she's around this kind of an element, I begin to worry and wonder too," he said.

As for Samantha Ronson, the DJ who has had a tumultuous public relationship with Lindsay over the last several years, Michael apologized for his attacks on her, calling her a force for good in his daughter's life.

"Samantha was actually helping," he said. "I'm wrong. I apologize 100%."
