Project Runway judge Michael Kors says the show's network change isn't the biggest thing he's had to get used to -- it's the commute!

Asked why he and colleague Nina Garcia haven't judged very often this season, the New York City-based designer laments that the long flight to Los Angeles, where the show now films, is too much to take.

"That six-hour commute is not something you can do twice a week," Kors, 50, told Usmagazine.com at Bette Midler's New York Restoration Project Honors Hulaween event Friday in NYC. "[Nina and I] have day jobs! I'm running a big company; she's editing a magazine and raising a family."

Still, the reality show judge is staying mum on his feelings about the former Bravo hit's relocation.

"I'm not going to say it was a mistake," he said.

In fact, the reality show judge -- who recently inspired his own challenge on Oct. 23 show where designers had to create a garment based on one of his favorite locales -- maintains that he would love to appear when his schedule allows.

"Whenever we can be in L.A. to do the show, we are of course happy to be there," he says.

As an avid Project viewer, I have been quite disappointed in the lack of Michael and Nina this season. I think having all of the different judges has given the show a lack of consistency. Some good designers have gone home while others who seem to be in the bottom every week have remained because the new judges obviously don't know they were bad the week before.
