LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Michael Jackson's backing singers and dancers from what were to be his upcoming concerts in London took the stage at his Staples Center memorial for a stirring rendition of "We Are The World," the late King of Pop's charity anthem on Tuesday.

The singers, who had been in rehearsals with Michael at the venue in the days preceding his death on June 25, were joined on the stage by a number of children, including Michael's own children - Prince Michael I, Paris, and Prince Michael II, known as Blanket, who sang along.

The singers then segued into "Heal The World," as stars such as Brooke Shields, Magic Johnson, Usher, Kobe Bryant, Berry Gordy, Smokey Robinson, Shaheen Jarfargholi, and others who had presented or performed earlier in the service, took to the stage as well for a group performance. Michael's father, Joe Jackson, stood next to Rev. Al Sharpton and swayed back and forth to the music

All participants payed tribute so well. Jermaine Jackson performance was flawless. It was a very moving moment when Michael Jackson's daughter was in tears. About the Rev. Al Sharpton, I am speechless. Thank you for behaving like a real New Yorker! A special thanks also to the L.A.P.D. and all law enforcements involved for a job well done. This was one of the biggest memorial ever...

I agree with linda s. If Al Sharpton wants blacks to be treated equally with whites than HE needs to quit pointing out the fact that he, Michael Jackson, and every other African American is black. Why can't he just honor Michael for the amazingly talented performer he was, regardless of his color? He was one of a kind, and it had nothing to do with the color of his skin!

You could really sense what a great person Michael Jackson was as a performer, as well as a human being. I'm sure he is watching from above smiling and proud of what a great job he's done to this world! BTW, the lead singer who sang "We are the world" and "Heal the World" was GREAT!

Very emotional memorial , what touched me most was the love and tenderness shown by the Jacksons brothers and sisters, and the love shown to Michaels children, that picture will always remain in my mind, rest in peace MJ
