    She's the face of Giorgio Armani's beauty, fragrance and skincare campaigns, but Megan Fox didn't always feel beautiful.

    "I was never the pretty girl," the actress tells the March issue of MIAMI Magazine. Describing her teenage self as "abrasive" and "obnoxious," Fox, 25, says she felt like a "loner" growing up. Plus, her interests have never been mainstream.

    "I would love to go on a dig!" Fox says, explaining her fascination with ancient civilizations -- and potential government cover-ups. "Come on! You don't think everything that's learned is released to the public, do you?"

    The actress, married to Beverly Hills, 90210 star Brian Austin Green, next appears in the ensemble comedy Friends With Kids (opposite Kristen Wiig, Jon Hamm, Maya Rudolph, Chris O'Dowd, Jennifer Westfeldt, Adam Scott and Ed Burns).

    "I'd rather be with good people in a movie than the other way around," Fox tells MIAMI. "Most of the cast knew each other very well already -- Kristen and Maya are BFFs; it was such a nice, welcoming, supporting environment."

    Adds Fox: "I always try to choose something different than what I've done before."

      This is just a variation on Paul F. Tompkins' "Tom Boy Scenario". As far as the public goes, we really like hearing that an actress or a supermodel was awkward and even boyish as a kid, but the opposite isn't true. You'll never hear Brad Pitt saying "Oh, I was a total sissy when I was a teenager". Though I'm pretty sure Kevin Spacey was.

      Ever notice how these hollywood women who are known for their looks always say stuff like "I was never pretty" or this is a good one "I eat what I want and never gain any weight" "I was a tomboy when I was a kid". They all say the same thing. They must all have the same agent.

        I think she meant it was more important for her to work with nice people in a small unknown movie that gets little attention than to be in a project with #$%$ and it be a blockbuster movie and she gets a lot of publicity.....she is an actress, she just appears to be well spoken in the movies because she learned her lines.

      Who cares? Lots of people think she's pretty now, she has an awesome job and a lot of money. Not really gonna feel sorry for you for feeling like a loner back in the day. Most people do at some point in their lives, just consider yourself lucky for what you have now. Does this girl ever say anything worth reading about?

      A woman should be a woman. Yes she's beautiful but those tattoes look discusting on that beautiful body. Why do pretty women do that? Dont you women know you look horrible with tattoes? Men wont normally say anything, but tattoes on a woman looks nasty and makes your body look terrible. "Dont do it!" You have to be going threw a stupid phase."

        Noah, before going off and insulting women for their personal choices, which obviously offend YOUR sensibilities (plenty of men think women with tattoos are hot, and NO I don't have ANY...). PLEASE learn grammar and spelling. It's "disgusting" (there's a G not a C there), tattoos (not tattoes), the contraction of DO and NOT is don't (there's an apostrophe there.) And you go THROUGH a phase. You THREW a ball.
