LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Twelve-year-old Max Records took on some rough-and-tumble scenes in the role of Max in "Where The Wild Things Are," but one thing he never had to worry about was a dirty outfit.
"There were 56," he told Access Hollywood at the film's junket of the number of wolf outfits in his costume closet.

The young star, who was 9 when filming began on the long-awaited adaptation of Maurice Sendak's classic children's book, said he went "Wild" off the set as well.
"I'm sure I would get sick of it, but I did wear it off the set sometimes," he said of the iconic costume.

"Everybody wanted to get in that suit," co-star Catherine Keener, who plays Max's mom, added. "It was coveted."
However, Max did have to change suits at one point - after a scene where he winds up in the belly of a Wild Thing, a moment he called the hardest stunt to shoot.
"That sequence inside the stomach of KW [the 'Wild Thing' voiced by Lauren Ambrose] - that was so totally gross," Max said.
