    Max Burkholder on 'Parenthood'

The Wrap announced on January 31 that Max Burkholder has been cast to star as Charlie in the upcoming sci-fi film "Vigilandia." The 14-year-old actor will appear alongside Adelaide Kane from "Power Rangers R.P.M." and "Neighbors." Many TV fans may recognize Burkholder as the actor who plays Max Braverman on "Parenthood," but the teen star has been acting since the age of six. Here are a few other places you may have seen (or heard) Burkholder.

    'Parenthood' (2010-present)

On the NBC drama "Parenthood," Burkholder brilliantly plays Max, the son of Adam and Kristina Braverman. The character was diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome early on in the series. Burkholder works with a doctor specializing in treating the condition to ensure he reacts as a child with Asperger's would in any given situation.

    'Family Guy' (2005-2011)

Before being cast on "Parenthood," Burkholder spent several years doing voice over work on various animated series including "Family Guy." He has provided several voices for the FOX hit including Patrick Pewterschmidt, Will Robinson, Calvin of "Calvin and Hobbes" and Scotty Jennings. Burkholder has also voiced animated characters for "The Cleveland Show" and "American Dad."

'My Friends Tigger and Pooh' (2007-2009)

In addition to some of the more adult-oriented animated series, Burkholder did voice over work for some children's cartoons. His most notable role was playing Roo in the TV series "My Friends Tigger and Pooh." He also voiced the character of Chomper on the show "The Land Before Time."

    'Brothers and Sisters' (2007-2009)

In front of the camera, Burkholder made appearances on many hit TV series. For several seasons he played Rob Lowe's TV son on "Brothers & Sisters." He appeared in several episodes as Jake McCallister to Lowe's Robert. Burkholder also did many guest spots on shows like "Private Practice," "In Treatment, "Grey's Anatomy" and "CSI: Miami."

    'Daddy Day Care' (2003)

Burkholder made his professional acting debut in the Eddie Murphy film "Daddy Day Care" at the age of six. Burkholder and his fellow child actors were nominated for a Young Artist Award for Best Young Ensemble in a Feature Film in 2003 for the movie.

Watch Burkholder in "Parenthood" on Tuesday nights at 10 p.m. EST/9 p.m. Central on NBC.
