LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- It appears George Clooney's new girlfriend, Elisabetta Canalis, has passed the friend test.
"She is a really, really wonderful woman," George's longtime pal and co-star, Matt Damon, told People Tuesday night at the Manhattan premiere of "The Informant!"

Matt told the mag that he and wife Luciana vacationed with the new couple over the summer.
"It's nice to see my friend so happy," Matt said.

As for Matt's other close Hollywood pal, Ben Affleck, "The Informant!" star explained that their busy schedules have been cutting into their quality bro time.
"He's been in L.A., and I've been in Miami, and now he's in Boston shooting, so we see each other less than we'd like to," Matt explained. "Hopefully, we'll change that."
