Matt Damon Crowned 'Sexiest Man Alive'

LOS ANGELES, Calif. (November 14, 2007) - Matt Damon is a father, beloved actor, Academy Award winning writer, and now- "Sexiest Man Alive" 2007.

People has released their annual list of the hottest of the Hollywood hotties.

George Clooney and Brad Pitt, both former titleholders of "Sexiest Man Alive", have campaigned for their good friend Damon since 2001.

People said they choose Damon for this year's coveted cover for his, "irresistible sense of humor, rock solid family man, heart-melting humility."

"You've given an aging suburban dad the ego-boost of a lifetime," Damon told People.

Damon had stiff competition with Patrick Dempsey, Ryan Reynolds, Javier Bardem, "Bionic Woman" star Will Yun Lee, and Will Smith also making the list. See 100 of the other men who made People's "Sexiest Man Alive" issue.
