Sorry, Shia: Mark Wahlberg is taking over.
The Oscar-nominated actor has been tapped to star in Transformers 4, director Michael Bay announced on his blog Thursday. This will mark a reunion for Bay and Wahlberg (The Departed), who collaborated on the upcoming film Pain and Gain.

"Mark is awesome," Bay wrote. "We had a blast working on Pain and Gain and I'm so fired up to be back working with him. An actor of his caliber is the perfect guy to re-invigorate the franchise and carry on the Transformers' legacy."
The next Transformers film will begin shooting next spring, with a release date slated for June 27, 2014.
