Marie Osmond's 16-Year-Old Son In Rehab

LOS ANGELES, Calif. (November 14, 2007) - Marie Osmond's son, Michael, is in rehab, Access Hollywood has learned.

Marie confirmed the news after Larry King asked her about it during a taping of "Larry King Live" on Wednesday afternoon, scheduled to air Wednesday night.

She told Larry King her son entered rehab last week.

A rep for Marie released the following statement to Access Hollywood on Marie's behalf:

"My son Michael is an amazing young man, shown through his courage in facing his issues. As his mother, I couldn't be more proud of him. The press and public have always been kind and gracious in the past and I know they will continue to respect our privacy during this time."

Marie's brother, Jimmy, also confirmed the news to Access Hollywood.

Jimmy told Access that his nephew Michael is a "sweet little boy," who is "suffering from some issues." Jimmy further noted that when one has a family as large as the Osmonds, "you're going to deal with every issue on the planet."

No word yet on why 16-year-old Michael has entered rehab or which facility he is in.
Marie survived the latest round of cuts on Tuesday night's "Dancing With the Stars."

Her father, George, died on November 6 at the age of 90.

    5 of Marie's children are adopted. With adopted children, many times you have to deal with genetics of the biological parents. Michael is one of her adopted children. None of her biological children are having any issues at all. I think she should be applauded for taking in 5 children that were from other circumstances! She took on all the genetic problems that their parents.

    These stars need to focus on family issues instead of their dancing careers if you could call it that. Is it really worth it to "do it for a family member"? Because it has become apparent that this seems at times that Dancing with the Stars is just a memorial or tribute album to fledging stars trying to make some sort of statement.
