With all the upheaval at the American Idol judges table, FOX has been scrambling to find high-profile replacements for Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler. There has been a bevy of A-list names rumored to be in consideration, but a new report indicates that one person is close to being official: Mariah Carey.

According to our sister website Deadline Hollywood, Mariah is nearing a deal to join the singing competition. Mariah, 42, would reportedly receive a salary of more than $17 million for the season, setting a record for talent on a reality series!
