LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Mandy Moore may be one of Hollywood's most beautiful stars, but the newlywed told People on Thursday that she's proud of presenting "something different" than red-carpet glamour.

"I can't roll out of bed and look that way," the singer-actress told the mag. "You have professionals who make you look a certain way. I'm very comfortable with the way that I look, but it's not fair for women to use someone or something as a bar. It's not reality, for anyone. I am happy to be myself and represent something different for women."

And the star, whose new album, "Amanda Leigh," is due in stores next week, said she doesn't skimp on the sweets to stay thin.

"If I really want something, I don't feel like it's worth it to deprive myself," she said, adding that she doesn't worry about her weight.

"I appreciate when there are other women out there who are beautiful and aren't, you know, a pound," Mandy said. "I feel lucky that I don't feel pressure ... to have my whole life be controlled by whether I fit into a certain size."

Still, there's one thing she's not always happy with - her hips.

"I still have a love-hate relationship with them," she said. "I'm not a swizzle stick - I'm not 14 anymore."

Tom, I don't know if you are looking for attention or just a true a**hole, but who cares what you are drinking and that you are trying to get some action. A female would not be in her right mind by letting you get next to her!

Damn, Tom, what woman wouldn't be charmed by your sweet approach. Bet you do real well with the ladies. They probably need four or five shots and two bags over your head to s***w your loser a**. Women do not find you as charming as you think. You probably got done with your fifth beer and choked your chicken and went to sleep. That is getting lucky to you.

"I'm not a swizzle stick - I'm not 14 anymore." Thank God I am of South American descent and was raised to appreciate my hips. Whats with these white women who want to be shaped like boys? Mandy seems to have alot of confidence...yet she mentions having a problem with having hips? Ladies, the fashion industry uses 14 year old girls and make them up to look old

I don't know, I don't think that people should feel the need to defend what they look like. I used to be a fatty myself, and even though I'm not anymore there is no sense of happiness that comes with that. I think that she's right, we shouldn't look for others to be our role models for what we should look like. BRAVO

Gee, I can't imagine why a real "winner" like Tom seems to be single. Maybe because he can only get "hotties" when they're drunk.
