Lance Armstrong 's surgery for a broken collarbone "went well," his manager, Mark "Higs" Higgins, just
posted on Twitter.

His surgeon, Dr. Doug Elenz, tells the Associated Press that Armstrong spent about three hours in a "challening" surgery to repair the collarbone, which was broken in four places on Monday after he fell during the first stage of a five-day race in Spain.
Armstrong be able to resume training on a stationary bike in a few days, Elenz says.
The seven-time Tour de France winner was first treated at the local Rio Carrion hospital (where he was spotted with his arm in a sling), and then transferred back to the United States to go under the knife.
Check out the day's top news photos.A few hours after the accident, Armstrong wrote on Twitter: "I'm alive! Broken clavicle (right). Hurts like hell for now. Surgery in a couple of days. Thanks for all the well wishes."
Armstrong -- who is expecting a child with his girlfriend, Anna Hansen -- ended a three-year retirement to return to competitive cycling in January.
