We're used to dissecting all of the hair and beauty changes of our favorite female stars, but what about the men? Sure, Hollywood's leading guys don't have to worry so much about their hair, makeup or outfits -- but that doesn't mean we want them to change their looks. After all, there's a reason why we love them.
Jake Gyllenhaal was first spotted with a bald head in April. At the time, it was revealed that the gorgeous 30-year-old actor clipped off his locks for his new role in the cop drama "End of Watch," co-starring Michael Pena.
That was only temporary, though -- Gyllenhaal grew out his hair again over the early part of the summer. The "Source Code" actor's bald head made another appearance last week when he started work on the new film.
This isn't the first time Maggie Gyllenhaal's brother shaved his head. He sported a close crop to play a Marine in the 2005 film "Jarhead." Don't worry if you're not a fan of his bald head -- Gyllenhaal obviously grows hair quickly and we expect him to regrow his locks once filming on "End of Watch" is done.
Matt Damon stepped out last week with a completely bald look -- and we barely recognized the actor without his trademark full head of hair. We're not sure if this look is for a role or just because it's super hot in his adopted hometown of New York City.
Maybe it's because he doesn't like gray hair?
"The gray hair I definitely attribute to my kids," the father of four told The Independent earlier this year with a laugh. "I always say to them, 'This [gray hair] is all you, and this side here is you!'"
We love you gray or bald, Matt!
Robert Pattinson made the pilgrimage to Comic-Con in San Diego with his "Breaking Dawn" co-stars Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner to premiere a few clips from the film. However, all anyone could talk about was Pattinson's weird haircut!
The 25-year-old actor showed off his half-shaved haircut while on the panel -- and the look left fans scratching their heads. Sure, Pattinson is never that concerned about his coif -- he's known for his greasy look.
"I just use water. No one ever believes me, but it's true," Pattinson said of his shampoo-free showers when he's not filming.
So, again, why the weird cut? It's for his new film "Cosmopolis," currently filming in Canada. Pattinson plays the protagonist, Eric Parker, who freaks out in a barber's chair and bolts from the shop with only half a haircut.
Talk about getting into your role!
Which -- if any -- of the new looks do you like?
