Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Hope Solo -- Other ‘DWTS’ Partners Who Didn’t Get Along

Some "DWTS" pros and their partners simply don't get along. We're looking at you Maks and Hope.

    Talk about a ballroom battle!

"Dancing with the Stars" pro dancer Maksim Chmerkovskiy is taking some heat amid allegations from his Season 13 partner, Olympic champ Hope Solo, that he treated her badly during rehearsals for the hit dance competition show.

In her new memoir Solo: A Memoir of Hope, the Olympic soccer goalkeeper revealed that the popular pro dancer "was often nasty," to her and once slapped her across the face. "He manhandled me in rehearsals from the start, pushing me, whacking my stomach, bending my arms roughly," Solo wrote.

Maks quickly took to Twitter to respond: "Always hated hypocrites and liars...but when someone is both AND an opportunist, I just feel bad for them."

But Maks and Hope's back and forth ballroom banter isn't the first time there's been dancing drama. Check out these other "DWTS" couples that didn't always get along.

Tony Dovolani and Kate Gosselin (Season 10)

Their on-camera fighting was notorious, and back in Season 10 pro dancer Tony Dovolani nearly quit the show after butting heads with partner Kate Gosselin. Two years later and it seems the ex-partners still haven't patched things up. During a 2012 appearance on Anderson Cooper's daytime talk show, Dovolani dished that after working with Gosselin he needed "a lot of therapy." The reality star-turned-coupon-blogger posted a rant on her CouponCabin.com blog that said, in part: "I think it is a shame that Tony has been left only with a negative impression of our time together, especially after we spent SO many hours, days, nights and weeks working hard together doing our best in the competition." Gosselin was also sure to point out that Dovolani didn't fare so well on the most recent season of "DWTS," cattily mentioning his "short run - first week elimination" with partner Martina Navratilova.

Jaleel White and Kym Johnson (Season 14)

Former "Family Matters" star Jaleel White had an apparent feud with partner Kym Johnson and some other members of the "DWTS" family on Season 14 of the show. According to Us Weekly, there was a "heated" confrontation during rehearsals after the actor accidentally stepped on the pro dancer's foot and she reacted to the pain. According to a show insider, White "got in her face," and chastised Johnson for "acting like a baby." To add extra fuel to the fire, White allegedly got into it with show producers as well as competitor Donald Driver and pro dancer Mark Ballas. (White even screamed at Ballas: "'You remind me of that annoying sitcom neighbor who gets into everyone's business!") Johnson and White later downplayed the fight, with White telling BET, "We definitely had a disagreement…But our disagreement was over some of the choreography because she didn't understand who Stefan Urquell (the alter ego of White's sitcom character, Steve Urkel) was."

    Derek Hough and ?

We can't call this a full-blown feud -- and we don't even know who he's talking about! But earlier this year Derek Hough teased about his "most challenging partner" in a promo video for the show. "This woman drained me," he said. "I cried at home every night." So who was the woman who had Derek down in the dumps? He'll never tell! But he made the comment pre-Maria Menounos, so that leaves Jennie Garth, Shannon Elizabeth, Brooke Burke-Charvet, Lil' Kim, Joanna Krupa, Nicole Scherzinger, Jennifer Grey or Ricki Lake as the possible culprits!

    Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Karina Smirnoff

When Maksim Chmerkovskiy became engaged to fellow "DWTS" dancer Karina Smirnoff, fans were hoping to see the Ukranian wedding of the century. Instead they saw a really bad breakup. And while they still cross paths in the "DWTS" ballroom, Maks revealed that he hasn't spoken to his ex-fiance in years. Maks told the New York Post, "I will never speak to that person again. And I never have. It has been years now. But I am not bitter."
