Lucky Magazine has apologized for what looks to be a photoshopped cover of Britney Spears.
The "X Factor" judge appears on the December cover of Lucky, but she doesn't look like herself. Her face looks almost unrecognizable and her hairline looks suspiciously low, meaning that she was probably wearing a wig.
After receiving a barrage of angry Twitter messages from disappointed fans, the magazine apologized, tweeting, "Thank you all for sharing your thoughts on our cover! As always, we will share with our team and we're sorry to have let some of you down."
Brit-Brit isn't the only one dealing with photoshop drama. Who else has had their image altered lately?
Christina is taking some heat for a Royal Fragrance ad that makes her look quite a bit thinner than usual. One critic described her extended arm as being "bent at a strange angle" and "has a zillion varying widths," while the other arm "looks like it might have two elbows."
Other fans criticized her for promoting poor body image. Wrote one fan "This makes me so mad! Why do they mess with us normal girls?"
Poor XTina. She's been taking flack for her recent weight gain, only to be criticized for looking too thin in these perfume ads.
Megan is taking legal action against the website Celebrity Jihad for publishing nude photos of her wearing nothing but high heels. Another photo shows her pregnant, accompanied with the headline "Megan Fox Looking Fat In A Bikini."
These photos are obviously fake, and the website defends its actions, arguing, "While we appreciate Megan Fox's concern for her image, we find it hard to believe that a woman who spent two "Transformer"s movies bent over with her breasts pressed together could have her reputation damaged by a blatantly satirical website."
In an animated Barneys New York window display features Minnie in a dream sequence. In the dream, Minnie walks the runway in a hot pink, ruffle-covered Lanvin dress. For a few seconds, she transforms into a taller, thinner, daintier version of herself.
The altering of Minnie's image angered body image activists. One petition against the ad received over 135.000 signatures. As one activist argued, "Girls have seen Minnie Mouse as a healthy character in their lives ... to have her image subverted like that is troubling."
Barneys, however, defends the ad, arguing, "Viewers will recognize the Minnie they know and love, as she takes a turn on the runways of Paris and in her own mirror, wearing a custom creation from one of the world's greatest designers. Some of the early highly stylized fashion illustrations have garnered significant attention, however the reality is Disney's Minnie Mouse proves that true fashion lovers come in all styles and sizes."
