The 2012 Primetime Emmys are set for this weekend. We expect the usual crew to sweep the awards, but we're more interested in what the stars are wearing, anyway. The Emmys doesn't compare with the Golden Globes and the Oscars in terms of jaw-dropping gowns, but stars don't phone it in, either.
Let's get ready for the 2012 show by picking some of the best looking gowns from year's past.
Say what you want about Lea Michele, but the girl knows how to dress. The "Glee" star made our jaws drop with her curve-hugging (and fire red!) Marchesa gown from 2011. Who will she wear this year? Our money is on Chanel.
The New York-born star might be all about the glam now, but her look growing up was really simple.
"[My] wardrobe in high school was very simple. Jeans and maybe a sweatshirt and sneakers," she told the Associated Press in 2011. We're guessing her wardrobe staples are now Gucci and Alexander Wang.
"True Blood" stunner Evan Rachel Wood is known for her preference for an edgier look, but her glittery Elie Saab dress from the 2011 Emmys was all girly and glam. Our favorite part of the look was her perfect white skin and hair, though. The actress told Teen Vogue that she's all about rocking non-tan skin.
From a young age, I've always liked my pale skin. People used to call me Casper when I was young, but I didn't really care," she said. "And as I got older, I saw people like Nicole Kidman who are beautiful and glamorous without being tanned."
E! "Fashion Police" star Kelly Osbourne has fought with her weight for a long time, but she was in perfect shape for the 2011 Emmys with her ruffled J. Mendel gown. She might go full-on glam for awards shows, but Osbourne reveals a trick that all in-the-know stars use to party all night long.
"Always pack a pair of ballet flats in your handbag because by the end of the night your feet are killing you. You want to keep going but you can't," she told the Associated Press earlier this month.
"I can't tell you how many times I've had to go home early because my feet hurt. Don't let your footwear ruin your good time."
Who do you think will be the best dressed at the 2012 Primetime Emmys?
