Did Elvis's daughter really work out of a fish truck? According to reports, that is exactly what happened. Lisa Marie Presley, who moved to England in 2010, spent a day experiencing local culture by serving fish and chips from a delivery truck. "It was when she first moved to the village about two years ago," said Mr. Chippy owner Kim Scales. "She is really interested in who people are and wanted to know all about our lives and how we live." Obviously, Lisa Marie loves her new life in England. That's not surprising because plenty of American celebs have had high praise for British culture. Here are just a few stars to that have openly admitted their fondness of the United Kingdom.
The "Poker Face" singer has spoken about the greatness of Great Britain on several occasions. In the past, she has dubbed British people as the coolest and mentioned her fondness of English tea. The singer has spent a lot of time over there, and has previously hinted at making the move permanent. "I'm a New York girl at heart, but I love it here," she said in an interview.
The wildly popular American filmmaker has expressed a strong desire to experience British culture in his life. "I love England," he said back in 2009. "It would be a wonderful life experience to have an excuse to work there for six or nine months." Not only that, but the director has expressed a strong desire to work with some of the country's biggest stars, including Oscar winners Michael Caine and Anthony Hopkins. Given his reputation, there's no reason his wish won't come true.
The Oscar winning actress is married to British native Chris Martin, so it's no surprise that she loves life in England. In fact, she has gone on record several times in the past about how much she prefers life in the old country. "I love the English way, which is not as capitalistic as it is in America," she once said in an interview. "People don't talk about work and money; they talk about interesting things at dinner parties." She hasn't been as cynical about her native country in recent years, but she still holds tremendous affinity for the U.K.
