While Lindsay's first album, 2004's platinum selling "Speak," and its gold selling follow up, 2005's "A Little More Personal (Raw)," offered pop-rock tunes, Lindsay promises fans something a little more dance-y for her third go-around.
She also plans to opt for a different take in her lyrics, and will likely avoid talking about her troubles including her multiple car accidents and three rehab visits.
"I think the past is the past and it should be kept there," Lohan said. "It's a new slate for me, and I want to show that in my new record."
Lohan told People she has three songs so far and is "recording here in New York and in LA."
