Lindsay Lohan stepped out earlier this week at the premiere of THQ's "Saints Row: The Third" and shocked people -- not for her gorgeous red carpet style, but for her yellowed and chipped teeth. Close-ups of her mug revealed that the starlet is in some dire need of dental care.
"This type of damage appears to be from a combination of smoking, drug use and lack of personal care, " New York City dentist Dr. Pankaj Singh told Limelife.com. Others have speculated that she had veneers taken out.
"Smoking causes yellowing of the teeth, which we definitely see here in this picture. However, at such a young age, smoking wouldn't cause the decay and browning you see around the gums. Damage like that is something we see in patients who are using or have used drugs."
However, don't expect Lohan or her publicist to talk about it anytime soon.
"With everything going on -- from deteriorating public education to rampant homelessness to international unrest -- there is no way I'm going to comment on Lindsay's teeth, " her rep told People.
What other celebrities have had serious problems with their chompers? Some celebrities -- like Jewel, Avril Lavigne and Kirsten Dunst -- are known for their imperfect teeth, but some celebrities have serious problems that need fixing.
Actress Mischa Barton upset PETA with the photo shoot she recently posed for with celebrity photographer Tyler Shields. Barton posed for shots with a bloody co-star: raw steak.
"I had lunch with Mischa [at In-N-Out], we talked and then the day after that it was meat on the face," Shields told The Huffington Post about the inspiration for the shoot.
"I bought $65 worth of steak and I want to put it on your face and I want you to eat it raw," he said he told Barton -- and she did it.
"She was ripping that steak apart -- I had to tone her down," he said.
However, all we could see was Barton's yellowed molars. She's a beautiful girl -- in dire need for a good dental visit.
Former "American Idol" finalist Elliott Yamin had everything after his stint on the show, but all he could think about were his teeth.
"I've always wanted to have a nicer smile," Yamin told People in 2006, adding that he was teased constantly for his teeth while growing up in Virginia.
"I used to look at old pictures of myself, and I figured out how to kind of smile without displaying all my teeth. "
However, he put the wheels into motion after realizing that a better set of teeth might help him in his singing career. He eventually received a full set of veneers that ultimately changed his entire look.
His girlfriend at the time didn't care, either way.
"I liked his old teeth, but if (the veneers) make him happy, then I'm happy, " she said.
"Boardwalk Empire" actor Steve Buschemi has made a career out of playing kooky characters. His teeth add to his method acting, though they're tough to look at -- they're yellowed, decaying and look like they haven't seen the inside of a dentist's office in years, if ever.
He won't change them now -- Buschemi knows they helped him get to where he is today.
"I've had dentists who have wanted to help me out, but I say, 'You know, I won't work again if you fix my teeth,'" he told The Hollywood Reporter in July.
