Lindsay Lohan May Play Elizabeth Taylor in TV Movie

Is Lindsay Lohan poised to make a return to acting?

Deadline.com reports the troubled 25-year-old starlet and current Playboy cover girl is in early talks to assume the role of screen icon Elizabeth Taylor for an upcoming Lifetime TV movie.

PHOTOS: Double take! Film and TV twins

Written by Temple Grandin's Christopher Monger, Elizabeth & Richard: A Love Story, will chronicle the relationship between Taylor and her second husband, actor Richard Burton.

PHOTOS: Elizabeth Taylor's life and career

Prior to her death in March 2011, Taylor -- who passed away at age 79 -- was long revered as an industry sex symbol. Should she snag the role, amping up her sex appeal shouldn't be an issue for Lohan, who channeled Marilyn Monroe for her recent nude Playboy pictorial.

PHOTOS: How Lindsay's face has changed

"Sex and sexuality are a part of nature, and I go along with nature," the Mean Girls star -- who completed her fifth jail stint in 2011 -- has said. "Knowing yourself and your body is so important because it gives you confidence, and in life, women need confidence."

BAD choice - I certainly won't devote any of my time to see that drug addict bimbo play an icon she isn't fit to polish the shoes of. She'd do better doing a remake of "Behind the Green Door."

I have to agree, Lindsay, soo sorry sweetheart, but you better find something else to do with your time. Acting is NOT IT! you were horrible in court and you are horrible in REAL LIFE. Go work at Mc Donalds if they will have you.

Whoever came up with this idea is a #$%$ It would be like Kim Kardashian playing Mother Teresa.

OMG ... she's not fit to polish Liz Taylor's shoes. It's sad that trashy drug addict actually thinks she could play the part of an icon ... that's what drugs will do to one's brain.

ummmm no I would not watch. What is with these people like Kim Trash, and Lindsay Lowlife wanting to take on such a legend.

Even that low level Lifetime should be ashamed for even considering this casting choice. Liz was a lot of things, but a white trash druggie bisexual thief was not among them. They need someone elegant who can ACT. That means going far away from California to look for the right actress. LOL I'm sorry Ms. Taylor. This must have you spinning in your grave. Forgive them, they know not what they do. LOL

Did she channel Marilyn? None of the guys I know think so...A good choice to play Elizabeth...I don't think so...Marilyn and Elizabeth were Iconic human beings! I think they both cherished what they worked for and what they had...Not perfect but Iconic! Lohan cherishes NOTHING and NOBODY! Hollywood should NOT EVEN attempt to think Lohan could compare to them NOR play them. Rediculous to even think about it..Loosing thought on Hollywoods part..Sad to think they would hire her to do it.

although i see some resemblance, i am disgusted that they would even dream of using someone like lindsay to play liz! its completely insulting and disrespectful to her memory

I am shocked by this. I mean the last thing Lindsay Lohan was in that generated any buzz was Playboy. And before that it was prison. To say this is a bad choice is the understatement of the year.

What? She's gonna play WHO? What stuff are the producers of that movie on- I'd like some. Don't they realize that Liz had two things that Lindsay maybe had a tiny bit of a LONG TIME AGO- BEAUTY and TALENT. Lindsay couldn't even land a job playing a stripper. No, of course I'm NOT gonna watch it. If some people are stupid enough to make it in the first place. P.S. And Snookie can play Debbie Reynolds.

One more movie I wouldn't pay a penny to see! You couldn't even pay me to see it! Elizabeth Taylor was a star for all the right reasons, working hard as an actress from a young age and earning her celebrity. Sure, Liz wasn't perfect, but she wasn't an amoral, trumped-up, little sleezebag (of course, don't ask Debbie Reynolds about that!).

I am SOOOO glad that every one agrees with me.Please don't insult Ms Taylor anymore than u already have by just thinking of giving the part to that thing
