On Monday it was reported that Lindsay Lohan is in talks to portray the iconic actress, and two-time Oscar winner, Elizabeth Taylor, in a Lifetime movie, "Elizabeth & Richard: A Love Story." It is said to focus on the much publicized romance between Taylor and Richard Burton, whom she married twice.
The legendary star is considered one of the great screen actresses of Hollywood's Golden Age, known for her talent, beauty and her many marriages and romances. The closest the 25-year-old Lohan has come to playing anyone of Ms. Taylor's stature was her recent pictorial in Playboy magazine where she was said to have channeled Marilyn Monroe in the January/February 2012 issue.
The star of "Cleopatra" passed away last March at the age of 79. How do you think she would feel about the troubled actress portraying her likeness?
Lohan hasn't had a major film role in years, spending much of her time in and out of a courtroom. Her latest was in the 2010 movie, "Machete." Frankly, we couldn't think of a worse choice to play Taylor.
The actress who wins the role should be petite, as Taylor was just 5'2" tall and quite svelte. She should also be intense and incredibly beautiful. Violet eyes would certainly not need to be a requirement, it's such a rare trait, and colored contacts can work wonders.
Anne Hathaway is one of the first that comes to mind. She has a classic, timeless beauty and charm. The 29-year-old is an Emmy winning actress, and she was nominated for an Academy Award as Best Actress for her performance in 2008's "Rachel Getting Married."
Megan Fox is closer in height to Taylor at 5' 4", whereas Hathaway is 5'8" tall, and she may be the closest in looks to the legendary screen icon, with her striking blue eyes and brunette locks. She is better known for her bad behavior and sex appeal than her acting ability, however.
Another beauty with beautiful skin, darker hair and stand out eyes is Zooey Deschanel. Though she's known for her quirkiness and comedic roles, the 31-year-old is also incredibly talented and we don't think it would be a far stretch for her to become Taylor. In fact, we think she's an ideal choice for the part. She was recently given the Best Actress in a Comedy nomination from the Golden Globes for her acclaimed sitcom, "New Girl."
Who do you think would be the best for the job?
