The 19-year-old rapper, born Melvin Vernell III, was found dead outside Northside Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia!
A motive for the shooting is still unknown and police are looking for “two black males … seen running from the location at the time of the shooting.”
The shooting occurred on June 7 at 6:40PM in the 1001 block of Johnson Ferry Road. The rapper was shot multiple times in a parked car on the second level of a parking deck off Hollis Cobb Drive. Lil Phat was rushed to a nearby hospital, but was pronounced dead shortly after.
Lil Phat released Trill 4 Life in November 2010, and was featured on a Trill Entertainment compilation Trill Fam: All or Nothing.
