They're "Talk"-ing again!
Even if Leah Remini doesn't take home the mirrorball trophy this season on "Dancing With the Stars," she'll exit the show a winner. The former "Talk" co-host has apparently patched things up with her ex co-worker, Sharon Osbourne, thanks to the ABC dancing competition.
The two outspoken ladies famously exchanged barbs after Remini and fellow co-host Holly Robinson Peete were axed from the CBS daytime chatfest in 2011. At the time, Remini accused Osbourne of getting her fired from "The Talk," sounding off with a tweet that said: "Sharon thought me and Holly were 'Ghetto,' (her words) we were not funny, awkward and didn't know ourselves."
Osbourne denied having anything to do with the firings and responded back with: "In response to Leah Remini's continuous comments that I had her fired from 'The Talk,' let me just go on the record to say I had absolutely nothing to do with her departure from the show and have no idea why she continues to take to Twitter to spread this false gossip. Leah knows that I have never been in the position to hire or fire anyone on the show."
During a 2012 guest spot on Howard Stern's radio show, Osbourne hinted at the reason why Remini and Robinson-Peete were given the boot from the talk show panel: "Some people don't really know who they are," she said. "You have to know who you are when you're in something like this. You can't pretend to be something you're not."
According to the Los Angeles Times, in a (now deleted) tweet, Remini wrote: "I will not respond to Sharon BUT only to say this, IF she wanted to clear it up she has my number & has had ALL this time and didn't use it. Not even to say she was sorry. So to Sharon I say... Well done Sharon, you won. I will move on now as you suggested. And so should u. Be at Peace."
But it looks like spray tans and sequins have helped smooth the relationship between the feuding ladies. That's because Osbourne's son, Jack, is also a contestant on this season's "Dancing With the Stars," and Mrs. O is seen in the audience on a regular basis. That obviously led to some backstage interaction - and more -- between the former friends.
Remini told TV Guide that she and Sharon are now speaking: "Of course," she said. "You've just got to let things go, especially considering what the Osbourne family has been dealing with. You can't hold grudges. You can't hold other people responsible for your life. I've had a lot of personal growth in that area, and there's other things that are important… what they're dealing with, there's just no way that I'm going to ice anybody out at this point. Sharon's been so supportive and gracious, so has Kelly, and Jack has been my support system at work. We hang out after and we go to dinner. There's just no way that I could hold any grudge in place ever."
"Dancing With the Stars" airs on Mondays at 8:00 p.m. on ABC.
