LA-area hospital: Heather Locklear 'stable' in ICU

FILE - In this June 12, 2009 file photo, Heather Locklear arrives at the Women in Film Crystal Lucy Awards in Los Angeles. Paramedics responded to Locklear’s home 35 miles northwest of Los Angeles for a medical emergency and transported a woman matching the actress’ description as a precautionary measure, authorities said Thursday, Jan. 12, 2012. THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. (AP) — Actress Heather Locklear remained in an intensive care unit Friday following an emergency call that brought paramedics to her home, a hospital spokeswoman said.

"Heather is still in good condition and she's medically stable, she is resting comfortably," Los Robles Hospital spokeswoman Kris Carraway-Bowman told KABC-TV.

The 50-year-old "Melrose Place" actress was receiving one-on-one care in the ICU, she said.

No reason for Locklear's hospitalization was released. Locklear's publicists have not returned calls seeking comment.

She was taken to the hospital from her home in Westlake Village, 35 miles northwest of Los Angeles, on Thursday. Ventura County sheriff's Capt. Mike Aranda said that deputies were not investigating.

Locklear has been hospitalized several times over the years. In 2009, she pleaded no contest to reckless driving after being arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of prescription medication.

Locklear also starred in such TV series as "Dynasty" and "T.J. Hooker."

Her engagement to "Melrose Place" co-star Jack Wagner recently ended. She was previously married to Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora, and they have a daughter together.

If she's in ICU it must have been serious. Sounds like a drug overdose...or perhaps a failed suicide attempt. I was married to someone with similar issues, he mixed anti-depressants and anti-anxiety pills with alcohol - NOT A GOOD MIX. He was falling asleep while standing up, really. It's really frustrating being with someone you care about and seeing them struggle with addictions, depression and anxiety. They don't always make good choices and sometimes the result is death by their own hand. It happens to lots & lots of people, but celebrities live under a microscope. The only good that comes from stories like this is that it creates awareness. Celebrities are human beings just like everyone else....they just have a different job. I wouldn't trade my privacy for all the money in the world. Have some compassion people.....or we loose what makes us human. Think about it.

Instead of turning on herself, I wish Heather would have just gotten drunk and gone and beat the crap out of everyone she's mad at---her ex best friend who did her husband, her ex husband who did her best friend, Hollywood execs who used her up and tossed her aside, Jack Wagner for just being a general dik...and anyone else who has made her feel like she wants to leave her life for good. It is cathartic to land a great right hook to that sweet spot and DROP THEIR NO GOOD #$%$ Teach 'em a lesson, girl.

As an nurse that works in an ICU, the only "medically stable" person receiving "one on one care" in an ICU is a suicide attempt.

Can't wait to see how/if Ricky Gervais comments on this at the Golden Globes-I see some real potential for humor here!

Heather I like you, we human beings are not perfect, but for some strange reason in life MONEY AND BEAUTY dosen't compensate for Happiness, now try and get it togetrher and start living, and if it means giving or sharing your time with others who will appreciate this, so be it, you can start with LA soup kitchens work your way to the other 50 states and if that still not enough hop on to VIRGIN ATLANTIC AIRLINE to one of those poor country, be humble its humility, and your reward will be waiting in Heaven, Get Well Soon Heather.

I hope she recovers and finds joy, and also I hope she has the courage to be open about her struggles, because the world needs help having humanized, positive examples of the reality of dealing with this affliction.

Too bad these so called celebrities and stars can't handle real life-they've been too pampered and coddled all their lives. She needs to suck it up and grow up and take care of herself and her daughter!

Women with breast implants are 300% more likely to commit suicide. Google it if you don't believe me. Trying to find happiness through your looks is a recipe for disaster when a beautiful woman starts to age. Heather needs to stop with the cheek fillers and start with finding her true worth as a person.

Plastic surgeons are supposed to have a psychological workup on their patients before proceeding w augmentation surgery. Unfortunately, most of these LA docs are more about the blessed buck and not patient care.
      • tjsmomma 4 months ago
What the hell does her plastic surgery have to do with this? And anyone calling themself a "Surferchick" has no right to talk about finding true happiness. Sounds like you are living a bit of a fake life yourself.
