LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- ABC's "Pushing Daisies" may not have survived in primetime, but one of its stars -- Kristin Chenoweth -- has found new life on NBC in David E. Kelley's new drama, "Legally Mad," Access Hollywood has learned.

The new series is described as a "quirky legal drama," according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Kristin will play Skippy Pylon a lawyer who begins working for her father's law firm.

Skippy is described as "a brilliant but not entirely well attorney who is relentlessly cheerful with flashes of psychosis and often is mistaken for a teenager."

"I could only picture Kristin playing this role," Kelley told entertainment trade mag. "I've wanted to work with her for a long time and can't wait to reveal her as someone who's completely mad."

Kristin received an Emmy nomination for her supporting role in the recently canceled "Pushing Daisies."
