Kristin Cavallari and Jay Cutler Are Expecting: Growing Trend of Out of Wedlock Hollywood Pregnancies?

    Jay Cutler

Actress Kristin Cavallari and her fiance', Chicago Bears' quarterback Jay Cutler, are expecting a baby. The on again, off again couple confirmed the news to People magazine on Sunday, January 21. The pair became engaged last April, but broke the engagement over the summer. By November, the wedding was back on.

The former "Hills" star and her athlete fiance' were originally planning a July 7, 2012 wedding date, but our calculations show that would put Cavallari at about nine months pregnant, so we think it's unlikely she'll be seen walking down the aisle ready to pop. Will they move up their nuptials, or wait until the baby is born? We'll have to wait and see, but they certainly aren't the first in Tinsel Town to have a baby out of wedlock, and in fact, it almost seems to be a growing trend.

Coincidentally, one of the biggest names in baby bump news is Jessica Simpson, who also happens to have a football player fiance'. Eric Johnson was a tight end with the San Francisco 49ers and the New Orleans Saints. Both Simpson and Johnson have been married before, but as of yet, they've not set their wedding date. The pop star says they won't wed until after their little one is welcomed into the world.

Kourtney Kardashian, the eldest of the reality sisters, announced her second pregnancy with boyfriend Scott Disick. The couple have a two-year-son, Mason Disick, who celebrated his birthday last month. They've been known to have quite the rocky relationship, and Disick remarked that the 32-year-old's recent pregnancy was quite the surprise. There are no wedding bells in their future as far as we know.

Just a couple of weeks ago, actress Sienna Miller announced that she was expecting with her boyfriend of a year, Tom Sturridge. A source said the 30-year-old blonde doesn't "have plans right away to marry, if at all."

Miller's sister tweeted that she was "thrilled," and friends of the newly expecting parents said they weren't surprised.

Last year, one of the former GOP presidential candidates, Mike Huckabee, remarked that Hollywood pregnancies " glorify and glamorize the idea of out-of- wedlock children." What do you think? Do these women have a responsibility to set a better example, or should they be left alone to lead the life they choose?
