Being caught in a compromising position in a car with Rupert Sanders turned out to be a bad career move for Kristen Stewart this summer.
The 22-year-old was in a three-year relationship with her popular "Twilight" co-star Rob Pattinson; her secret pal was the father of two young children. As fast as you could say "Trampire," Stewart's image changed from honey to hussy.
In the wake of the scandal, the former child star dropped out of her next movie, "Cali," allegedly replaced by Amber Heard. And there were rumors she would be banned from a "Snow White and the Huntsman" sequel, which the studio later denied.
Though such respected A-listers as Jodie Foster rose to Stewart's defense, it could take some time for the actress -- who, ironically, specializes in playing troubled characters -- to repair her damaged reputation.
But the "On the Road" actress was not the only star who hit a pot hole this summer. The solar heat may have impaired the judgment of some other celebs whose transgressions got them in trouble:
Things Got Hairy for (Prince) Harry
What happened in Vegas did not stay in Vegas for the hapless Prince Harry. The brother of Britain's eventual heir to the throne had a bit too much fun partying in Sin City last week and managed to have nude pictures of himself cavorting with nubile young women published on TMZ. The indecent exposure was not nearly as shocking as the prince's ineptitude at keeping it secret.
Roseanne Barr Put Her Foot in her Mouth (But Not a Drumstick)
No one can call Roseanne Barr a chicken after she tweeted in July, "Anyone who eats S--- Fil-A deserves to get the cancer that is sure to come from eating antibiotic filled tortured chickens 4Christ." The former sitcom star was referring to the fast food chicken chain Chick-fil-A, whose owner proudly donated money to groups opposing same sex marriage. Still, many people had a bone to pick with Roseanne for wishing cancer on people, and the former Green Party candidate for president back-pedaled to say, "Rereading my tweet I realize that I used the wrong word-I shouldn't have used the word deserves in my tweet and I apologize."
Some Parents Not Down with Wayne Brady
Ironically, Barr's comedian buddy Wayne Brady also found himself in the dog house this summer. At her Comedy Central roast in August, he irked parents of children with Down's Syndrome when he said of fellow comic Jeffrey Ross, "Now the thing is, Jeff, these are all jokes, and I really like you.... But a lot of people hate you, especially Sarah Palin because you remind her of what Trig is going to look like when he's 40." A blogger whose son has Down's Syndrome called the sometimes Sesame Street star out on his alleged joke, and Brady subsequently issued a heartfelt apology on Facebook.
Taylor Swift Accused of Being Kennedy Wedding Crasher
Though the jury is still out on whether the country singer officially crashed the wedding of her Kennedy boyfriend's cousin, as credible a source as Kathie Lee Gifford is claiming she did. Gifford was at the wedding because the bride was her step-granddaughter, and last week she told her bestie Hoda Kotb on the "Today Show" that Swift was asked to leave twice. The "Should've Said No" singer may need to rethink her strategy of dating a man, er, boy still in high school whose idea of how to RSVP is sending a text message an hour before the wedding.
