Kim Kardashian's Debuts Dramatic New 'Do

HOLLYWOOD, Calif. -- Kim Kardashian may have split recently from long-time boyfriend Reggie Bush, but at Sunday's Teen Choice Awards, she took the concept of 'lightening her life' to the next level.

Kim appeared almost unrecognizable with her brighter locks, inviting comparisons to stars including Leona Lewis and Ashley Tisdale.

Access' Shaun Robinson caught up with the doyenne of the Kardashian clan to discuss the new look.

"It is blonde," Kim told Shaun. "I've never dyed my hair before in my life and I wore a wig once (back in April in NYC) that was blonde, and I loved it. There was a lot of buzz. I was really nervous. I sent out a mass family e-mail like we do when we need a big decision. Everyone said, 'No,' and I said, 'You know what? I'm in the mood and I'm feeling it right now. I just want, I want a complete change.'"

So was the hair change a result of her break-up?

"Does this signal a new beginning for you, maybe?" Shaun asked.

"It's a new me, it's a new beginning," Kim replied. "What's crazy is I never wanna go dark again."

"Really?" Shaun asked.

"I think so. I don't know. I mean... never say never. I'll probably be back in like, you know, a few weeks," Kim replied jokingly.

Kim wasn't the only fan of her new look. Although the family might have disagreed at first, sister Kourtney loved the results.

"OK, what's the verdict ladies, how do you like it?" Shaun asked Kim's sister Kourtney.

"I think she looks stunning," the "Kourtney & Khloe Take Miami" star replied.

So, what sort of man did Kim hope to attract with her new locks?

"OK, so now you know they say every woman who goes from blonde to brunette, or vice versa -- they say the types of guys who hit on them are totally different," Shaun started in.

"Maybe I'll get all the teens," Kim joked. "Maybe finally Nick Jonas will hit on me. Maybe he will finally give me the time of day!"
