Kim Kardashian doesn't know who to trust. On last night's episode of "Kourtney and Kim Take New York" Kim and momager Kris Jenner were furious. Apparently Kris learned that Kim's publicist and ex bestie Jonathan was kicking Kim to the curb. Of course Dash-watchers thought that we were watching the drama play out between Kim and her most recent public hater number one, publicist Jonathan Jaxson. Wrong! This beef was about another publicist named Jonathan; Jonathan Cheban.
Apparently the Kardashian buddy was writing a scathing tell-all book about Kim, or so it appeared. Kim commanded her mom to get an advance copy of the book so that she could find out what her turncoat ex-friend was saying. After all, with a publicist like that, who would need frenemies?
Fans watched the bitterness unfold on "KKTNY" as the "Keeping Up With The Kardashians" megastar unleashed an all out twitter war against her former best bud, saying among other things, "users are losers."
The Real Scoop on J. Cheban:
1. About the Tell-All Book.
Jonathan's high gloss publicity firm is named Command PR. In addition to BFF KK, he has repped such boldfaced names and companies like the Sugar Factory, a luxury lollipop maker. The book that Kim thought was all about her is about how to be an "it girl" instead.
Jon Jon has been in the business for a long time. With his business partner Simon Huck he can be found making Hollywood stars pop in New York, Los Angeles, Miami or anywhere in between. If anyone knows how to create a star, he's that dude.
2. The Other Jonathan.
Kim has had serious issues with another publicist named Jonathan. A few months ago Jaxson caused a stir when he came forward claiming that KK was a master fabricator. He regaled the tabs with tales of her fudging things with ex Reggie Bush and said that in his opinion the whole fairytale wedding appeared to have been faked.
K-fam struck back saying that Jax was the liar. Now, he keeps his fellow Kim-haters up to date on his blog about the scandal.
3. Jon & Kim's friendship now.
Kim's previous adoration for Jon Cheban is no secret. She even produced his E! Network reality show "The Spin Crowd." Other besties we've seen on the show like Brittny Gastineau haven't necessarily made the Kardashian cut. Kim and Jonathan, however, are now stronger than ever as friends and business associates.
4. Jonathan vs. Kris Humphries.
Unfortunately, Jonathan's feud with The Hump supposedly started about the same time that Kimmie's 72-day marriage fell apart. Kris H. allegedly called Jonathan "gay" on camera. Jonathan, who insists that he is straight, was said to have threatened to sue. That's when all hell broke loose.
Kris' fans were furious. Who even knew that KH had fans? They lashed out on the NBA basketball star's behalf, threatening to hurt the publicist. One even attacked Jon with flour in public. "This is for Kris Humphries!" the attacker yelled.
5. Cheban's new jewelry.
JC designed a jewelry collection that is now being sold at Dash. The unisex line for guys and girls is a mix of edgy and girly looks designed with Robin Rothfeld. The exclusive collection is called "Jonathan Cheban for RichRox." Mr. Cheban says, "The collection is just a unisex collection for guys and girls it's kind of casual and chic stuff you can wear with jeans or when you're going out. I wanted to be very affordable for everyone."
That's the deal on the Kardashian-Cheban squabble. Kim wrote the forward for Jonathan's future book and all's well that ends well. So much for giving best friends the benefit of the doubt.
Is Kim increasingly paranoid? Should she be wary of her friendships in her position? Should Jonathan have forgiven her?
