Kim Kardashian can't believe the California Supreme Court voted today to uphold Prop. 8, which bans gay marriage.

"This really makes me sad," the reality star blogs. "I thought we were more forward thinking than this, and I'm disappointed in the Supreme Court for being so close-minded.

"Everyone...gay, straight, bisexual, transgendered -- EVERYONE should have equal rights to marry who they want to," continues Kardashian, who once held a drag queen look-alike contest on her web site.

"I have many gay friends, and all I want is for them to be happy, yet this is just another obstacle in their way," she goes on. "Now they must continue fighting to be granted a basic civil right that many people take for granted. Shame on you, California! We must all continue to fight the h8!"

Elton John -- who wed his partner David Furnish in 2005 -- calls the vote "just awful.

"California is supposed to be a progressive state [and] it just defies logic to me, and I'm very disappointed with that," the British singer tells Canadian entertainment show eTalk.

Christina Aguilera, Heidi Montag, Britney Spears and Miley Cyrus have also spoken out against the measure in the past. Gay marriage is legal in Connecticut, Iowa, Vermont, Massachusetts and Maine.

People did have the right to choose! They got to vote whether they were for this or against it. The Supreme Court has no right to overturn the will of the majority, no matter what anyone else thinks. When the government gets to make decisions for us, instead of us all getting a chance to vote on it, this country is dead and no better than a communist dictatorship.

Well, when someone with the pure moral upbringing that Kim obviously had speaks, then we all should listen! Who better to give us all advice and counseling than someone famous for nothing more than having a fat ass and a porno video. Kim, dear, you are a skank who made millions off the stupidity of TV viewers... be happy with what you are and shut the hell up.

First off, I go to church and believe in a power greater than myself. I also am a former Marine. I think we should have the right to choose what we want. You are the one who has to live with your decision not me. So, gays should be able to choose who they marry just as straights do. This is my thoughts on this.

If a gay couple love each other, and want to spend the rest of their life with them, no one should be in there way. And us Americans are to ignorant to understand. Or want to understand. Thus, they let the Bible deside. Everyone counts on the Bible these days.

Anna. Quoting the Bible will not make your statement anyomore forward. People on these boards don't believe in the same rights as you do, or the same religion for that matter. Marriage is not all about religion, its about the person you love, and want to spend the rest of your life with. Some, like myself, find your remarks a little defensive.

Marriage is NOT a right. It's a heterosexual TERM reserved for man / woman unions. Why do gays have to have a hetero term to define their unions? Why not try to get benefits and whatever rights they are seeking under the civil union agreements. Why ppl continue to support these ABNORMAL folks is beyond my logical comprehension. Sure they may be nice but they're still not normal.
