Kim Kardashian awoke this morning to slanderous accusations that her companies may use slave labor to manufacture their fashionable goods. Her Shoe Dazzle partner and the Institute for Global Labour and Human Rights have come forward to say that these charges are categorically false. This is emblematic of the roller coaster ride of a year that the Dash Doll and her famous family experienced in 2011.
Say what you want about Kimmie and company but her fans have been there for (almost) every step of the journey. They number eleven million strong on twitter. So how will Kim remember this year with her family: Kourtney, Khloe, Rob, Kendall, Kylie, Bruce and Mama Kris? Let's review.
2011: A Very Kimberly Year
KK rang in the rocking year at Tao Nightclub in Las Vegas. She surprised the crowd with her musical debut "Jam: Turn It Up." She worked on the song with music producer The Dream and we saw it all unfold later on "Keeping Up With The Kardashians." A portion of the proceeds made from the tune were donated to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Kim kicked off the month of love by sporting creme colored pajamas on the cover of Glamour Magazine. The reality cover shot must have done really well because the glam mag is taking the same path in 2012. They kick off the "Happy New Year" issue with Kim flanked by sisters Khloe Kardashian Odom and a barely pregnant Kourtney Kardashian.
Kimmie covered Harper's Bazaar and FHM mags making her the new Tila Tequila. We kid Lady Kardashian, of course!
The real royal wedding took place in the UK between Prince Williams and Dutchess Kate as Kim K. covered Self Magazine back at home. We wonder if "America's Princess" took notes while she watched the princess walk down the aisle.
Kim announces on the cover of People Magazine that she is engaged to NBA basketball star Kris Humphries of the New Jersey Nets. Her reportedly 2 million dollar engagement ring means that anyone who had fantasies of the it girl reconnecting with Reggie Bush has to say goodbye to "The Bush and the Tush." Now it was all about "The Hump and The Bump." KK also covered Cosmo UK with the word "Goddess."
The 30-year-old Armenian beauty x-rayed her famous booty on her reality show to prove that her butt is 100 % surgery-free. Kim's wedding registry was also revealed as her Kris, her hubby-to-be, posed shirtless in GQ Magazine.
This was the calm before the Kardashian-Humphries nuptial storm as Kim blogged tidbits about the upcoming Kardashian Kollection clothing line. Kim put in charity work by visiting 15-year-old Zoe Hazlett, a courageous accident victim and cancer patient, in the hospital. The bombshell also showed Kris H. that she was ready for a new life when she went jet skiing on Lake Minnetonka near his family home!
Wedding mania was in full swing as fans contemplated Kim's Vera Wang gown, her musical playlist, custom wedding fragrance and more. "Kim's Fairytale Wedding: A Kardashian Event" broke all records on E! The wedding was akin to a sporting event and fans wished the happy couple well by tuning in for their two-day, four-hour reality TV extravaganza.
Sexy honeymoon pics of Kim and Kris are somehow "leaked" showing the hot, young couple in love. It's enough to make fans forget that Kim was ever involved with Reggie B., Ray J., Nick Cannon, Gabriel Aubry, the Australian bodyguard, Miles Austin or even Paris Hilton for that matter.
Kim and Kris renew their vows on the talk show "Ellen." Hey, it's only been 5 weeks but who couldn't use a love refresher? Cracks in the wedding armor begin to show when KK scolds her man on live television telling him, "Watch your mouth" on "The Tonight Show."
The reality TV megastar shocks everyone and no one when she files for divorce a couple of weeks later. They were married for a whopping 72 days. In lieu of returning gifts Kardashian plans to make a charitable donation.
Let the backlash begin. Kardashian fans are furious and want their four hours spent watching the wedding back. There are charges of fraud and "Stop the Kardashians" petitions spring up web-wide. Kim supports brother Rob Kardashian as he shines on "Dancing With The Stars," remaining stoic through the presumably stressful post-wedding ordeal.
The Kardashian novel "Dollhouse" hits the New York Times bestsellers' list. Haters are once again forced to bow down because like it or not, it's a Kim K. world. At least, for now.
What do you think Kim will do in 2012? Sound off!
