LOS ANGELES, Calif. (October 17, 2007) - As it turns out "Rock n' Roll Jesus," is indeed Kid Rock's savior as the rip roaring record brought the Detroit rocker to the top of the album charts this week.

"I want to thank [my manager] Punch Andrews for his guidance, friendship, and hard work throughout my career. This couldn't have happened without him," Kid Rock said in a statement. " And to my fans, for once again giving me a great excuse to throw a big party. I look forward to celebrating with them soon. And to everyone else, welcome to Haterville, population YOU."

Last week's charter topper, Bruce Springsteen's "Magic" fell into second place, while Rascal Flatt's "Still Feels Good," slipped to number three.

LeAnne Rimes found herself with a hearty number four on the charts with her album "Family." The other new entry into the top ten this week was Sara Evans' "Greatest Hits" which landed at number eight.

  • Charlie Parker Lives!!!!!!
John Coltrane, Jaco Pastorius, Miles Davis, and Carlie Parker were all internationally famous composers and performers, who forever changed all musicians that heard them with some of the most innovative, beautiful and difficult songs ever. True they all did lots of heroin and cocaine nearly until they died but they still made music for eight hours a day(literally) and understood every note

People like Charlie Parker, Jaco Pastorius and Miles Davis were internationally famous musicians and composers who did a lot more drugs than bands do today(like in Mile's case at one point he did nothing at all but shoot up, for 5 years)and these guys still managed to practice for around eight hours a day or more and preform and compose music far beyond today's crap in beauty and complexity.WeSuck

I would never tell someone to stop making music no matter what I thought. But, the fact of the matter is that musical talent and commitment to making music is seriously lacking from today's music. In the 30's, 40's, 50's, 60's and 70's there were popular musicians like Duke Ellington, Louis Armstrong, Charlie Parker, Miles Davis, Frank Zappa, Parliament and others that were the best in the world

Out of the top ten downloaded songs and purchased albums there are about five artists who actually even attempt to play any kind of instrument, and of these only two could ever play any music considered difficult by serious professional musicians. In addition, those who are just singers are all using filtering and voice modification software. Everyone has the right to do whatever they want.
