Given the current economy, Kevin Federline can't fathom throwing down $200 for a pair of True Religion jeans for his boys, Sean Preston and Jayden James.

So, WWD reports, he wants to start a children's clothing line -- and is in talks with Gerard Guez about a licensing deal.

Federline, who made an overnight stop at a Las Vegas trade show in the interest of research, said he was scoping out the styles for inspiration.

"It's a really tough business, I'm trying to take it seriously and make a quality product for kids but not have parents pay like $500 or something ridiculous for a pair of jeans," said the rapper, who receives $20,000 a month in child support from ex Britney Spears .

"You buy your kids a pair of True Religions then they roll around in the dirt like kids do and a $200 pair of jeans is gone," he went on. "With this economy, Im looking to do something much more reasonable."

No word yet on the name of the line or a release date.

I dont see where he gets the face and nerve to get interviewed like that and tell everyone he wants to start his own business when the world knows how he milks money from Britney. To answer the writer's question: NO NEVER.

Thank goodness the boys look like Britney and not Kevin. I think he is a looser. He is a moocher and instead of getting Britneys money he ought to go out and get a real job because he cannot act or sing.

Uh hello, you people ever seen those "Fabulous Life:" shows on VH1? A lot of celebrities drop major cheddar (money for those out of the loop) on high end clothes for their kids, despite the obvious fact that they would grow out of them soon. Regardless of what Kevin is doing with the child support otherwise, he's has a good point. And for the record, he's sayin

he needs to get a job and stop living on britney's hard-earned money. instead of buying expensive jeans he can just buy from a cheaper store. he needs a reality check and he needs to step up and be a father to those kids and a good role model

The only reason he has those kid's, is so he can get paid. Kevin needs to do something instead of living off his ex. What a loser....................

Can you say Children's Place, Old Navy or Gap, Kevin? Is this guy for real? No one buys kids jeans that expensive in the "real world". I would not spend that much on a pair of jeans for myself. And I wear nice designer brands. If you hit the sales, you can do quite well and keep some money in your pocket. I am sure that Britney is buying anything these kids want or need.
