Well said. Most disturbing are people who think they have it all figured out and who are so perfect and without fault that they can pass judgement on everyone else. Rest in peace, sweet angel...and thank you for providing the soundtrack to so many wonderful moments in my life.

what's sad is the blame game. $&*# happens. it was an accident -same could have happened and does happen to other people. she was loved and will be missed. all of the investigative crap is totally taking away from the person she was.

That's very kind of Kevin to speak at her funeral. I felt a strong connection between them in watching the movie "The Bodyguard". Classy move!

you are right about no one wakes up and makes the decision to abuse themselves with drugs and alcohol...if you have not been touched by someone that has an addiction you just can not understand the hell they go thru...

I have a daughter that is an addict and fighting the demons is hell. Addicts need to want the help. There is always someone supplying their drug so the enablers are just as much to blame. It is sad.

Good luck to you and your daughter - it is a very tough job, but when you love someone, you will be there for them.

Kevin gave a wonderful farewell, and I hope all in attendance heard his message....It is so sad people are continuing to find fault with Kevin and talk all about Whitney's problem....look around before you cast a stone at others...you enver know when it will hit you at home!

So should people who die from lung cancer be persecuted the same because they make the choice to smoke and risk death? Some of you are so judgmental over someone you didn't even know .... at the same time forgetting all she gave to this country by donating and raising millions and millions for different charities. May you never have to deal with an addict because I would feel sorry for that person.

Whitney Houston said, now in death, I see GOD eye to eye.
And, he let me sit on the shoulder of one of his giant Angels.
Therefore, l can see further than most men and women as they talk.
As though they had never heard my beautiful song before.
As though they had never felt the power of my voice.
As though my songs had never wipe their unhappiness away.
As though GOD who gave me this talent cannot ask for it back.
As though GOD cannot use the vagaries of life to ask me to return.
As though, all men can live for forever.

I love "The Body Guard" {Movie with Kevin Costner, and they were awesome together in making it. I have it, and all of her movies and music. Thanks Kevin, Whitney is happy that you care enough and remember the great time you two had making the movie. Whitney is very much loved by many Christians, and non-Christians. She has a beautiful soul that is now solely in "Gods Hand" and under his wings. I pray this for and over Whitney.

Psalms 23: The Lord is my shepard, I shall not want, he maketh me to lie down in green pastures, he leadeth me beside the still waters, he restoreth my sole. He leadeth me in the path of righteousness for his name sake. Yea though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death. I will fear no evil, for thou art with me, thy rod and thy staff comfort me, thou preparest a table before me in the present of my enemies, thy "anointest" my head with oil, my cup runneth over, surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord Forever. Amen!

      In rememberance of you...

I don't get why people have a problem with honest when someone dies. God doesn't all of sudden say you should lie about someones life after they die. Yes, addiction is complicated and you have to feel for anyone going through that; but yes, also most people do choose to do drug and therefore bring all of these things on themselves. That's doesn't mean you don't feel empathy for them or certainly their families, it's just a FACT!

All I can say, is she did it to herself.......She was a great singer, until she gave it all away to drugs and alcohol..
      • Darissa 3 months ago
It's a hard truth but thank you for saying it. No one wants to accept what Whitney herself said in the Diane Sawyer interview, that no one made her choices, she did what she did on her own. I loved Whitney and was moved by her movie the Preacher's Wife...(My Fave) until I heard she was doing drugs while filming the movie. I don't think I can watch it again. It's a feeling of being lied to. The saddest sacrifice she made was her daughter when she chose drugs and alcohol. A sad story all around but pretending it's not true will not change it.

I also believe if she met someone else and not Bobby Brown, It might of turned out different.

Diane you sound like a judgemental hater..and Darissa honey if you stopped watching a movie because the actress/actor starring in it is NOT perfect, dosen't meant your moral approval, or oh my goodness, (gasp!) they do drugs!!..then you may as well stop watching a lot of movies sweetee. I'm not condoning drug use one bit, however I hate to bust your little bubble, but sadly a good number of celebrities, including the goody-too-shoe imaged ones, use drugs or is doing/has done things in their life that maybe considered unethical or illegal...RIP Whitney, God has already welcomed you home with open arms.

Too bad she didn't marry a nice guy like Kevin instead of a drugged out douche like Bobby!

Beautiful and gifted. However, she did not serve our country, lose her life in battle, find a cure for cancer or gave her life on the streets of our cities. We all know why Governor Christie is playing the re-election game. Shame on you Gov. for lowering the flag for an singer/actress who chose her way of death.

She brought goodwill to US from every corner of the world and will continue to do so for as long as her music is sold outside US. There are many ways of rendering service to one's country.
      • anm 3 months ago
i think she had a beautiful voice, but " rendering service to one's country".? you're a jerk to even make that comparison..
