Kelsey Grammer's fourth wife Kayte Walsh came close to saying "I'm sorry" to the woman he was still married to when she met and fell in love with the "Frasier" star.
Though the mother of Grammer's fourth child finally acknowledged that secretly cavorting with the Broadway star while the clueless Camille was real-housewifeing in Beverly Hills was not cool, it could be hard for her to take back some of the hurts she inflicted on her.
On a particularly poignant episode of "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills," Camille was humiliated when Kelsey's doorman did not believe she was his wife because he was used to seeing the actor with Kayte. The mother of the couple's two young children had to produce ID to gain access to her husband's Manhattan apartment building.
Later the two Mrs. Grammers feuded over the "Boss" star's sex appeal. After Camille implied on an episode of RHOBH that her husband's sexual equipment was inadequate, Walsh told a reporter, "Perhaps the fault lies not so much with the member in question but rather with the inspiration at hand." Did the "Cheers" star really need the chick with whom he cheated on his wife to rise to his defense?
Trading insults, however, is not unheard of between the other woman-turned-wife and the former Mrs. Celeb.
LeAnn Rimes, for instance, made a big deal out of calling herself the "Bonus Mom" to Brandi Glanville's children with the country singer's new husband, Eddie Cibrian, whom she met on a movie set. Early in the relationship, Glanville had called out the diva for planning to sing to her son's class at school. "I told Eddie to please tell you that I think it is highly inappropriate for you to sing in my sons class on Friday. Boundries!!" she tweeted.
But like Walsh, Rimes has allegedly been trying to mend fences of late. In June she linked to a blog called "The Evil Stepmother Speaks" which promises to help women like her "change (their) relationship with that … nasty ex-wife." Perhaps inspired, she tweeted a chirpy message to Brandi, and wished her a fun day with their mutual son.
As with LeEddie, Tori Spelling and her current husband, Dean McDermott, met while both were filming a movie and married to others. But though her country cousin never apologized for breaking up Cibrian's marriage to Glanville, Spelling has at least acknowledged she harmed other people by her actions. "There were a lot of people hurt," she said, "and, of course, if we had to do it all over again, we wouldn't change a thing, except take that hurt out that it caused people. We didn't want anyone to get hurt, but we also -- I'd found my soul mate. How could I deny that?"
McDermott's ex, Mary Jo Eustace, had the last word, however, when she wrote in her book "The Other Woman: Twenty-one Wives, Lovers, and Others Talk Openly About Sex, Deception, Love, and Betrayal" about the moment she first learned about the affair. "You slept with Tori Spelling?" she recalled asking her then husband, incredulously. "Nobody sleeps with Tori Spelling -- not by choice anyway."
