On August 6, Katie Holmes took her adorable daughter, Suri, to the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in NYC. On their way to the museum, they walked hand-in-hand as Katie carried a red bag and stuffed animal and the 6-year-old ate an ice cream cone. The newly-single mom seems to be adjusting well to the recent divorce from husband of six years, Tom Cruise. Other than spending quality time with her daughter, what else has she been up to lately?
Private school enrollment
The actress recently enrolled Suri at The Chelsea school, a private school that has a tuition cost of approximately $40,000 a year. Located near their NYC apartment, it has a playground on the roof, a fitness center and many other amenities. Not only is it the first year in a school for the little one, who was previously home-schooled, but it's also the first year The Chelsea School will be open. There were only 1,320 spots available for a school that houses nursery school through ninth grade.
Headed to Broadway
The 33-year-old is keeping herself busy post divorce. She's going to be the star in the Broadway play, "Dead Accounts," and will have the role of Lorna, the sister of the wealthy prodigal son, Jack. The play will center around their family drama and Jack's return to Cincinnati from New York. In a statement, the beauty said "I am thrilled to be coming back to the Broadway community and honored to be a part of this team."
Fashion Week debut
In September 2012, she'll make her first ever appearance at New York Fashion Week to present the Spring/Summer 2013 collection from the line she launched in 2009 with her stylist, Jeanne Yang. The pair will show their collection, appropriately named Holmes & Yang, on September 8 at 9p.m. at an undisclosed location. New York Fashion Week runs from September 6 - 13, so mark your calendars!
