Katie Holmes Dissing Marriage To Tom Cruise in New Interview?
Katie may have filed for divorce from Tom on Thursday June 28, but in an interview conducted six weeks earlier for Elle magazine, Katie seemed to be over the idea of being ‘Mrs. Tom Cruise!’ Read below and find out all the details of her revealing interview!
The August 2012 issue of Elle magazine will surely be a huge sell as Katie Holmes, featured on the cover, gives one of her final interviews before splitting from Tom Cruise!
Katie, 33, was first asked how she felt about entering her 30s to which she replied, ”I definitely feel much more comfortable in my own skin. I feel sexier. I think in my 20s, it’s like you’re trying too hard to figure everything out. I’m starting to come into my own. It’s like a new phase.”
Katie certainly did come into her own when she filed for divorce from Tom, 50, on June 28 – shocking the world and her husband! But as the interview goes on, it seems like the signs of Katie wanting out of her marriage were there — six weeks prior when the interview was conducted!
Katie seemed to have responded negatively when a question about being “Mrs Tom Cruise” came about. She said, ”He has been Tom Cruise for 30 years. I know who I am and where I am and where I want to go, so I want to focus on that.”
Furthermore, a source on set during the interview revealed to the New York Post that Katie didn’t seem to be happy in her relationship with Tom at the time. The source said, “Katie didn’t speak about Tom in a lovey-dovey way at all. She deflected the Tom questions and brought them around to herself.”
Katie also revealed in the interview that being married to Tom didn’t help her career! In fact, she says she had to work harder because of it!
“Things are not handed to anyone,” Katie said. “If anything, you work a little bit harder when you’re in such visible circumstances.”
