Kathy Hilton Calls McCain 'Celebrity' Ad 'A Complete Waste'

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Kathy Hilton has responded to John McCain's recent campaign ad, which pitted presidential hopeful Barack Obama as a celebrity alongside Britney Spears and her daughter, Paris Hilton.

"I've been asked again and again for my response to the now infamous McCain celebrity ad. I actually have three responses," Kathy Hilton wrote on the Huffington Post web site.

Kathy Hilton, who alongside her husband Rick, gave $4,600 in campaign contributions to McCain, according to CBS News, expressed her displeasure with the Republican presidential hopeful's camp spending money on the spot.

"It is a complete waste of the money John McCain's contributors have donated to his campaign," she wrote. "It is a complete waste of the country's time and attention at the very moment when millions of people are losing their homes and their jobs And it is a completely frivolous way to choose the next President of the United States."

In the campaign spot, images of Britney and Paris flash before showing a crowd cheering for Obama.

"He's the biggest celebrity in the world, but is he ready to lead?" a voiceover asks.

McCain defended the ad on Friday, saying it went for a humorous angle.

"We think it's got a lot of humor in it, we're having fun and enjoying it," he said, according to the Associated Press.

McCain is a waste just like Bush, people most of people are going to vote for him out of fear. You'd rather put another idiot in the office then a black man. As for the ad I see the humour in it. McCain is so old he cannt relate to the younger generations. He is just jealous he's not popular like Obama. But what are McCains issues besides staying in the war while this country go
