Katherine Heigl appeared this morning on "The View" to talk about her latest flick, "One for the Money." She appeared sweet and bubbly with her precocious baby girl by her side. The film co-stars the talk fest's co-host, Sherri Shepherd, who plays a prostitute. Heigl, who was a teen star on the dramatic series "Roswell" became a household name as Dr. Izzie Stevens on ABC's hit medical show "Grey's Anatomy." Since leaving the series, Katherine has become known as one of the go-to girls of romantic comedy.
The movie star has also gone on to build a loving family. Her husband is musician Josh Kelley. The two adopted Naleigh together. Naleigh is now 3-years-old. The blonde beauty even directs her hubbie and toddler daughter in the music video for his tribute song "Naleigh Moon." The touching video includes home footage revealing the personal journey of the young family.
The first indication that Kath was unhappy playing Izzie came during an alleged homophobic incident involving co-stars Isaiah Washington and T.R. Knight. Heigl came to Knight's defense and Washington checked out of "Grey's" and into rehab. At the time the outspoken actress said of Isaiah, "I'm going to be really honest right now, he needs to just not speak in public. Period," After that, things seemed to unravel between the shows producers and Dr. Stevens. She often outright mocked the show's storyline in public.
Katherine is not only an actor but a producer as well. Her past films include "27 Dresses," "Knocked Up," "New Year's Eve" and "Life As We Know It." Blockbuster author Janet Evanovich appeared with Katie, as she called her, on "The View" to talk about her turn in "One For The Money." Janet said that she loved KH's portrayal of her popular character Stephanie Plum although Katherine is much prettier than the way Steph was written in the books. Evanovich called Plum a "car crash heroine" and said that Katie "elevated the role." Nice!
Katherine also made a bid to the producers of "Grey's Anatomy." She said that the show was her family and she would gladly return. We wonder if Shonda Rhimes, the creator and executive producer is listening.
What do you think? Do you want Katie Heigl back on "Grey's"? Or should the "27 Dresses" star just consider it all "One for the Money" and move on. Sound off!
