To most, Private Practice star Kate Walsh mght seem perfectly thin. The actress, however, says she's happy with her fuller figure -- and doesn't plan to change it.

"I've never been skinny. I've never been a size zero," Walsh, 41, told Usmagazine.com at the Blow Out Cancer event Monday in Los Angeles. "Even when I was born, I was probably bigger than the other babies. It's really not a priority to me."

The 5-foot-9 actress -- who donned a fat suit to play Nicki Fifer on Drew Carey in the late '90s -- says she has always been a yo-yo dieter.

"I try to eat healthy foods, but then of course I really do love junk food, too. I still love my potato chips. I try to eat organic, but it's ... really expensive and not everybody can do that," Walsh continues.

To combat her sweet tooth, Walsh says, she's tried every diet on the market.

"I've done every diet there is. When I quit smoking years ago, I did the cabbage soup diet. I went on Atkins because I was going to have foot surgery," Walsh -- whose Private Practice premieres Oct. 1 on ABC -- has told Women's Health magazine. "I knew I wouldn't be able to move or work out, and I was afraid of becoming huge. I remember sitting by the pool with my legs elevated, eating a mixing bowl's worth of whipped cream with Equal in it."

So what would she call herself now? Plus sized? She used to be a model for pete's sake. She's not helping these young girls who have body image issues by making such a dumb and insensitive statement like this.

It'd be great if in addition to talking about how it's hard to stay in shape or healthy, she'd talk about how damaging extreme dieting is to the body and mind

LOL-ROTF..... Seriously! Someone please buy her distorted self-perception a clue! When she's at least a size 14 or more, then she has the HONOR of calling herself "not skinny". Talk to us in the real-woman world when you develop fat rolls.....

you guys are missing her point- she is not saying she is not thin- she is saying it does not come natural to her, like everyone else she needs to work at it and watch what she eats. She does not have the build to be boney but that does not mean she wants to let herself go either

I think it does more damage than good when celebs claim they have to deal with not being skinny when they are extremely thin. If teenage girls look at her and see a fuller figure, what are they gonna think? Truly sad!

Listening to celeb's tell us they never think about being skinny, they eat taco bell and Mc Donald all the time, they don't know why they're skinny.... It's like listening to a junkey. We know you have a problem, denial is most unattractive. Stay away from the porcline thrown!

She is a beautiful woman who looks great everytime I have seen her. I remember last year when she was briefly married and I saw some pictures of her on the beach with her then husband, she looked pretty skinny to me.
