Besides house training their new canine friend, Kate Middleton will have plenty to keep her busy while her husband Prince William is deployed to the Falkland Islands this month.

On February 8, the Duchess will visit the National Portrait Gallery where she will attend a private viewing of the Lucian Freud Portraits exhibition. The 30-year-old studied art history at St. Andrews University (where she met Prince William) and is a Patron of the museum, where she has paid visits to before.

Days later, Kate will spend her first Valentine's Day as a married woman not with her husband, but with charity work instead.
On February 14, the Duchess will head to Liverpool, where she will step out in support of Action on Addiction & Alder Hey Children's NHS Foundation Trust. The charity is opening an adult dry bar that provides food and entertainment to help alcohol and drug addicts recover from their former vices. The Duchess of Cambridge became Patron of Action on Addiction in January 2012.
